 NAMI Yakima is a grassroots, mission-driven group of mental health peers, family members, friends, community partners
& other volunteers.

Our mission is to serve our members (You can become a NAMI Yakima member by clicking here!) and our
Central Washington communities by providing family
and peer led mental health support,
education, and advocacy services.

The organization is governed by a Board of Directors that meets quarterly each year. The board is comprised of mental health consumers, family members, area providers and other community partners committed to furthering NAMI Yakima's mission in our communites. Open Board seats are slated each July, but applications for Board membership are accepted anytime. Occasionally, Board member are appointed at other times during the year. NAMI Yakima has been in existence since 1981
and is a grassroots, volunteer-driven organization.

We are affiliated with other NAMI organizations
at both state - NAMI Washington - and national - NAMI National Office - levels.
