NAMI Group Facilitation Training

Download a flyer and training application packet here ...

Saturday, December 10th and Sunday, December 11th, 2011

Red Lion Hotel, Yakima

Would you like to be a NAMI Yakima group facilitator? We are looking for peer volunteers to lead BOTH family and friend groups AND groups for those with mental illnesses. We will provide the training, ongoing support and other resources in return for the gift of your time, talent, and most importantly, LIVED EXPERIENCE.

You can use the impact of mental illness on your life - either as the loved one of someone with an illness or as a peer living with your own mental health disorder - to help yourself AND change the lives of others.

NAMI Yakima staff and volunteers are always available to provide referrals and/or one on one peer support. Contact the office at 509.453.8229 or info@namiyakima.org to get connected!

Look for Central Washington group expansion soon! Groups in the Upper and Lower Yakima Valley, Ellensburg and elsewhere are starting soon!

NAMI Yakima currently offers a number of ongoing support and networking group meetings. These include:

Bipolar Disorder Group

1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month - 3:30 - 5:00 p.m.

Long After the Diagnois - Family and Friends Group

4th Monday of each month - 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.

Connection Wellness and Recovery Group

EVERY Wednesday - 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.

Suicide Survivors - Family and Friends Group

4th Wednesday of each month - 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.

Mental Health Wellness Group for Life Transitions

2nd Wednesday of every month - 1:00 - 2:00 p.m.

NAMI Yakima is in the process of assessing community needs in order to change and add/or add to the types of support groups we offer. In order to reach those goals, we need your help!
